Public Works

The public works department has many sub-departments which includes:

• Water
• Sanitation (septic)
• Wastewater
• Solid Waste (garbage)
• Roads and Bridges (infrastructure)
• Community Buildings
• Plumbing
• Fire Protection

These areas are all categorized and funded by Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development (AANDC).

All services are provided to residents of Skownan. A New Water Treatment Plant is currently being obtained and funded through AANDC and the project is under the direction of PM Associates, with a tentative date for construction in 2013/2014.
